BABY BUMP CASTING

Baby Bump Casts last a lifetime, and can be hung on a wall, or placed on a shelf as a constant reminder of the life altering moments you celebrated together. We recommend getting your belly cast no earlier than 4 months in, and no later than 8 months in as your suprise may come early and we want to get an accurate casting of your belly!

BENEFITS OF HAVING YOUR BUMP PROFESSIONALLY CAST

Don't try this at home! My husband and I are both artists and he really struggled to cast mine correctly, so sadly my full torso one fell apart. Baby bump casting is not only an artistic skill, but a technical one as well. Casts dry fast so it is important to "get in and get out". Having a design plan, and practice before hand really makes a huge difference in terms of how long it takes to get it done, and done well. We all know being pregnant is uncomfortable, and you generally have to remain in the same spot and position while you are being casted for 60 to 90 minutes depending on the size of your cast. Depending on the size of the person being casted it could take more or less time, and more or less supplies to complete the cast. So having a person who can do the casting fast, properly, and gently (meaning not applying hand pressure in tender areas where baby has been kicking for ex.) is super important. I am a mom myself, and I understand how important this moment is to you, Id like to make it as special as possible while respecting your body.

Baby bump casts are more accurate than an x-ray version you will get at a doctor. Alot of women enjoy placing the cast on their belly after baby is born to see how much their body has changed. You can also do a photo shoot with your baby inside your cast shortly after they have been born. When your baby becomes a child you can show them the cast, and tell them that was there first apartment. When you see it hanging on the wall you can take pride in the fact that you created an amazing human. For moms who have mis-carried, or have given birth to multiples, their cast has given them a treasured keepsake forever.

HOW IT WORKS

  • WHERE: We offer belly casting services in the comfort of your home, and we recommend having you sit on a comfortable chair with pillows in the your living room or kitchen where there is good lighting, and a comfortable temperature. OR private studio appointment by coming to us.
  • PREP: We provide the tarp, sheets, and all other supplies to ensure a "mess free" casting environment in your home, and clean up any mess from the casting process ourselves. All supplies will be purchased by ArtWithSas prior to your appointment and will be brought to your home for your appointment. We wear masks and gloves, clean and sanitize the chair where you will be seated during casting. We have different chairs to sit on for your comfort which are cleaned and sanitized between each use.
  • PRIVACY: We recommend thinking of your one on one appointment as a special self care spa day. You are more than welcome to have your partner present, and children, as long as you feel you are in a relaxed atmosphere. You can play music, chat on the phone, etc during the casting process. However, the more your body moves, or the baby moves the harder it is to get an accurate casting as the cast dries fast. We recommend booking your appointment during your babie(s) usual nap time. The Artist will not bring another person or party to your private casting appointment. Due to COVID-19 restrictions only one person may attend your appointment with you. We do however offer an ADD-ON Videography option to your package so you can share your baby bump empowerment sessions with loved ones after via USB or CD.
  • HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE: 45 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on if you are getting one cast or two, and the size of your baby bump and the design you have chosen.
  • EATING: You can eat before your appointment, just not during for sanitation and accurate casting purposes. Feel free to sip on a beverage of your choice.
  • NUDITY: We will not paint fully or partially nude bodies. We require under garments for your chest and private area to be worn before, after, and during the appointment. Sports bras, panties are recommended as a wired bra will provide an inaccurate casting, and nipple covers will get stuck to the cast.
  • FILMING: You are allowed to film the casting process. For liability purpose, we reserve the right to film all casting sessions, however it will not be publicly shared, and will be safely stored offline. In the event you desire a copy of the footage (which will be filmed with our camera and tripod), you can get the MP4 version for an additional $25.00 CAD fee. 
  • POST CASTING: Once I have finished your cast you will be able to shower, and all excess casting materials on your body easily come off.
  • ALLERGIC REACTIONS: ArtWithSas only uses certified baby bump casting materials for your safety and our own. We do not allow you to purchase your own casting materials for this reason. In the case you do have an allergic reaction during the casting process we will stop and you will receive a partial refund for your booking. However, ArtWithSas is not responsible for any liability due to an allergic reaction, and can not guarantee it. However, ArtWithSas ALWAYS uses brand new, fresh, sterilized casting supplies for your appointment and does not re-use left over supplies. 
  • CANCELLATIONS DUE TO ILLNESS: In the event you, or i become sick your appointment will be re-scheduled as long as you provide 24 hour notice. In the event you do not provide 24hr notice to myself in writing, you will not receive a refund or a credit towards re-scheduling an appointment.
  • CAST COMPLETION: Casts are painted at my home studio which is (dog, bird, smoke, drug, etc free) on a first come, first serve basis. This means the person who has the earliest due date will have their cast completed first to ensure you have your cast in your hands by or before your baby is born. In the event your baby is born early and you intend to do a baby cast photo shoot with them, your casting completion will be placed in top priority painting sequence. Once your cast is complete you will be notified in writing, and you can schedule a pick up/ meet up time. 
  • PLANNING YOUR DESIGN: You can choose to provide concepts, or specific designs to myself at the time of your booking or say "whatever you want to design.' However, I will ask some general "get to know" you questions to ensure I'm incorporating inspirations that truly match your inspirations, values, favorite colors, treasured memories, etc. If you choose not to provide a bump painting concept at the time of your booking, and you do not like the completed design at time of pick up, you can request one additional revision for the fee of $75.00 CAD. Due to the fragile state of a cast when painting, only one revision or touch up will be allotted per cast.
  • RESPECTFUL CASTING POLICY: Having your belly cast is an artistic experience that should remain professional free from sexual harassment from all parties involved. The casting process is designed to be a straight forward process that does not involve a massage of any kind, etc. If any in-appropriate physical, emotional, mental, or spiritually abusive conduct takes place from the model (woman being casted), or their partner attending the appointment, the appointment will immediately cease, and no refunds or re-scheduled appointments will be provided to the booking party.
  • ARTIST UNIFORM: Artist will wear a painting apron, rubber gloves, and ArtWithSas clothing to promote a clean, sanitized, professional attire.
  • SMOKE/ DRUG/ ALCOHOL  FREE POLICY: The Model (person being casted), and their party will refrain from smoking, drinking, or doing drugs from the time the Artist arrives, to the time the Artist leaves the appointment.
  • CASTING BREAKS: In the event that the cast breaks during the casting process due to ArtWithSas Artist negligence or error, the Artist will re-schedule for free to re-cast the Model again. In the event the cast breaks during the painting process, the Artist will immediately contact the Model and re-schedule a re-casting appointment as soon as possible. 
  • MODEL PRE-INTAKE: When you book your appointment we ask that you provide your height, and your hip/ waist/ chest/ shoulder measurements to ensure we bring the right amount of casting supplies. All casting materials are pre-cut before your appointment according to your design request, belly cast size type, etc. This is confidential information that will not be shared with any other parties on or off-line, and will be stored safely.
  • CASTING PICTURES: We will take pictures of your casting process and the cast once its complete for our portfolio. Which you can have FREE of charge to add to your baby book.
  • CANCELLING/ RE-SCHEDULING CASTING SESSIONS: We require a 50% deposit no later then 7 business days before your session in order to ensure we have fresh and adequate supplies in stock to complete your design. The remaining 50% must be paid be or before the day of your casting. We ask that if your are sick, or concerned that you have COVID symptoms to reschedule your appointment.
  • COMPLETED CASTINGS PICK-UP/ DELIVERY: We provide curbside pick up for your completed cast and will advise you via email when its ready for pick up. If you can not pick it up due to isolation due to COVID we can provide delivery for free.

PACKAGES

Your casting package is an all-inclusive flat fee that Includes all supplies, casting labor, and casting design labor. Belly only castings take 60- 90 mins to complete. Torso castings take 90 to 120 mins to complete depending on the size of the Model.

  • Basic (CD)- One angle view of your casting session start to finish provided to you on CD, and available for pick up when your baby bump cast has been completed being painted. We provide the CD, and video in HD for $25.00 CAD
  • Bronze (USB) - One angle view of your casting session start to finish provided to you on CD, and available for pick up when your baby bump cast has been completed being painted. We provide the USB, and video format in HD for $35.00 CAD

TYPES OF BUMP CASTS

There are several types of bump cast designs that can be made, the sky is the limit! The best part of the design that many momma's love is taking a picture of your baby in the cast once they are born. Your baby bump cast can be hung on the wall or used as a fruit holder on your kitchen table, or signed by your close friends and family at your baby shower! We are always open to new design ideas, and love a challenge! Your bump is carefully sanded down and sealed in resin after completion so it will last for a lifetime.
